For many golfers across the Des Moines metro and beyond, it is hard to justify a golf membership. For some it is the cost and others it is not having enough time to golf as much as you need to make the membership worth it. But as golf courses look to evolve to keep rounds played up, new types of memberships at public courses are showing up at greatly reduced cost to entice golfers to call that course home.
While most courses will offer weekday, junior and senior memberships, Golf DSM wanted to look at membership offerings that are more unique. I took a look at golf courses around the Des Moines metro and some courses a short drive away to find which courses are offering these memberships. Also we looked at how many rounds you would have to play (based on 18 holes walking during prime rates) to make the membership worth it.
