Golf Shopping Tips
If you are not familiar with golf products, finding the right golf gift that will be loved can be difficult. Here are some dos and don'ts when buying your Christmas golf gifts.
You may be surprised at how much it cost to buy 12 little white (or yellow/orange/blue/pink) balls. Golf balls make a great gift, every golfer needs them and needs lots of them. Before heading to the store, you need to look at the current golf balls he has to know what you are looking for. And just like a car, you need to know the Make (i.e. Callaway) and model (i.e. Chrome Soft) of the ball as there are many varieties. Golfers can be very specific with the ball they use, if the ball they use cost $50 don't buy a similar ball for $20. It is better to just buy something different than get a dozen golf balls that will gather dust in the garage.
Gift cards are always the easiest gift. Pretty much any kind of golf retailer or course will have them. And if you are the "gift cards are impersonal" type, a gift card to a specific course shows thought went into the purchase to identify which course the gift receiver will get to play.
While lots of people wouldn't like the ideal of getting a shirt or pants as a gift, golf clothes are different. These days golf style is a big deal, and there are many types of styles to be had. You can easily look at his/her's current golf clothes for an idea of what they like. If you aren't sure though, a solid Nike (or similar brand) polo will usually work. But to really bring the gift to the next level, it is best to get multiple pieces to bring the outfit together. That can be a matching shirt and belt, pants and hat or a whole head to toe outfit.
